”Grants. Now”
The first Foundation Day in Finland will be held on 1 October. The aim is to make the foundations’ support for the arts, research and culture better known to the general public. Kone Foundation (Tehtaankatu 21 B 49, Helsinki) has open house. Coffee will be served from noon until 7 PM.
”Grants. Now” funding means that the decisions will be made right away! Grants will be awarded for small but bold projects the aim of which is to bring together researchers, artists, and other cultural workers to plan new kinds of cross-disciplinary cooperation. Both in Helsinki and in Jyväskylä, some 20 applicants will be able to present their ideas in the order of the queue. The grants will be between 50 and 500 euros and the applications are submitted orally.
In Helsinki, the funding takes place at the Kone Foundation office (Tehtaankatu 21 B 49, 00150 Helsinki) between 12:30 and 3:30 PM. The distribution of queue numbers will begin at noon. The decisions will be made by the members of the board of the foundation, Hanna Nurminen, Ilona Herlin and Minna Nurminen.
In Jyväskylä, the foundation will set up a pop up in Agora Auditorium 1 of the university (Mattilanniemi 2) between 4:15 and 6:30 PM. The distribution of queue numbers will begin at 4 PM. The applications are submitted orally, and they are public to all those present. Jyväskylä university faculty and students will take precedence in funding decisions. The decisions will be made by university professors Janne Kotiaho and Markku Lonkila, who are members of the foundation board.
